Louisville Native Brad Holsclaw Announces Campaign for Kentucky Secretary of State
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Brad Holsclaw, a Louisville native with more than 25 years of experience in policy and government relations, is proud to announce his candidacy for Secretary of State of the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the 2027 election. The Republican primary is scheduled for May 18, 2027.
Holsclaw’s campaign will focus on three core principles: integrity in elections, accessibility in government services, and accountability in public office.
“I’m running for Secretary of State because public service should mean something,” Holsclaw said. “Kentucky deserves an election process worthy of its citizens, a government office worthy of their trust, and leadership that puts service first. Public office is a public trust, and I intend to approach this responsibility with dedication, sound judgment, and a commitment to the law. This campaign is about ensuring that the Secretary of State’s office remains focused on its core responsibilities, not political theater, not personal agendas, but public service.”
The Kentucky Secretary of State serves as the Commonwealth’s chief election officer and chief business official, with responsibilities that include election administration and business related filings. Holsclaw’s priorities include ensuring elections are administered according to the law, making government services more accessible and efficient, and strengthening public confidence through transparency and responsible stewardship. His campaign also emphasizes the importance of helping Kentucky’s small-business owners and entrepreneurs navigate government requirements.
Holsclaw spent 12 years in Washington, D.C. as a senior legislative adviser, managing the U.S. Senate floor under three Republican Senate leaders, including Senator Bob Dole. He became a senior partner at TCH Group LLC, a government relations firm, where his work has focused on public policy advocacy and navigating legislative and regulatory issues. Holsclaw also has been assisting and fundraising for Republican candidates the last 30 years locally and nationally, including his mother Bobbie Holsclaw’s campaigns for Jefferson County Clerk.
Beyond his professional career, Holsclaw has served on the board of Cloverleaf Equine Center and supported organizations including the Children's Charities Foundation, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and Alzheimer's related charitable organizations.
Holsclaw is a native Kentuckian and lives in Prospect with his wife Shannon with their two daughters. More information is available at www.holsclawforsecstate.com and www.holsclawforsecstate.com/statement.
